Gold coin dedicated to Francesco Borromini, one of the most important architects of the Baroque period, PROOF.
One of his architectural masterpiece is the "San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane" roman church as well as the "Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza" or the elliptical stairs of Palazzo Barberini, Rome.
The coin portrays the bust of Borromini, inspired by a self-portrait in the San Carlo church in Rome. The background depicts the elliptical stairs in Palazzo Barberini, in Rome. Near REPUBBLICA ITALIANA there are two bees that represent the family symbol. On the other face of the coin it is shown the Lantern of the Sant’Ivo alla Speranza church included in the representation of the church itself.
