Coin dedicated to 25th anniversary of German reunification 1990-2015, Brilliant Uncirculated.
The reunification of the German state was officially sanctioned on Oct. 3, 1990, not even a year after the fall of the Berlin Wall that for 28 years had literally broken in two Germany and all of Europe. The territories of the German Democratic Republic, commonly called "East Germany", were formed in as many Land (federal states) and formally joined the Federal Republic of Germany.
The coin shows two representations of the Brandenburg Gate that cross as two hands, a symbol of the reunification of the two peoples. In fact it was the first place where the inhabitants of both sides of the Berlin Wall met after its fall. The Gate, finished in 1791, during the Cold War was located in East Berlin. Today it is the most famous monument of the city.
