The first 2€ commemorative coin is dedicated to Tintoretto, one of the greatest exponents of the Venetian school and of the Italian Renaissance and a precursor of Baroque art for his dramatic use of perspective and light.
The obverse of the coin depicts the embrace between the Madonna and Elizabeth, a detail taken from the painting "Visitation", kept at the Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice.
The second commemorative coin celebrates Gian Lorenzo Bernini, one of the greatest exponents of the Baroque, who extended his influence on the European scene for over a century. The obverse of the coin depicts the famous marble portrait "Busto di Costanza Bonarelli", kept at the Bargello Museum in Florence.
