Coin dedicated to the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, which has earned the title of World Heritage. On the reverse of the coin is depicted the Royal Monastery. The construction of the monastery began in 1563 and ended, incredibly, in 1584. The work was started by Juan Bautista de Toledo but after his death in Madrid on May 21, 1567, Juan de Herrera took charge of the works. Juan de Herrera was the creator and founder of this great work, which would even give a name to a style of architecture: Herrera.
